So far we expect a foldable iPhone fold only in 2027, but according to a new rumor it will be earlier – we will tell you when!
This is when the foldable iPhone Fold appears
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said earlier that the foldable iPhone Fold goes into mass production in the fourth quarter of 2026, which means that the release would be somewhere in 2027. Meanwhile He believes that the production of the foldable iPhone at the end of the third quarter of 2025 (end of September) or early fourth quarter (October) will officially start. Apple is apparently also planning to launch the device in the autumn of 2026, as part of the iPhone 18 series.
Despite this deadline, Kuo says that many specifications of parts are not yet final. What is ready is the foldable screen produced by Samsung Display.

You can expect this
According to rumors, the foldable iPhone or iPhone Fold will have a screen of around 5.5 inches in a closed state and 7.8 inches in open state. The device folds in two such as a book, similar to the Galaxy Fold devices (and not the Galaxy Flip).
The foldable iPhone is probably 4.5 mm thin when it is folded and 9 to 9.5 mm when it is closed. Apple has paid a lot of attention to the design of the hinge and the device probably has almost no visible folds. There are also cameras under the screen, although it will probably have Touch ID instead of Face ID due to space restrictions.
Rather but not cheaper
In the past, Kuo said he expects the price for the foldable iPhone to praise between 2000 and 2500 euros. Moreover, that was before Apple had to deal with high import duties in China.
KUO expects Samsung Display to produce around seven to eight million folding screens for the iPhone Fold in 2026. He also expects Apple to place an order for a total of 15 to 20 million foldable iPhones. According to him, that would suffice for two to three years, because the demand is somewhat limited due to the high costs. The last rumors say that Apple strives for a launch in the fall of 2026, but Kuo warns that Apple’s plans can still change.
