According to Apple analyst Mark Gurman, there will be no iPhone 15 Ultra this year. When can you expect the high-end iPhone?
iPhone 15 Ultra: high-end iPhone
In recent months, more and more rumors have surfaced about the iPhone 15 Ultra, the more luxurious version of the iPhone 15. The iPhone 15 Pro Max would then be replaced by this Ultra. According to Mark Gurman, 2023 is still too early for the Ultra model, so he does not expect an iPhone 15 Ultra this year.

With these statements, he adjusts his previous prediction about the iPhone 15 Ultra. In September of last year, Gurman called it quite possible that the more luxurious iPhone will appear this year. The Apple analyst will now return to that. He does expect Apple to come up with a more luxurious iPhone.
Ultra model will appear in 2024
Mark Gurman predicts that the high-end iPhone will appear next year. This means that there will be no iPhone 15 Ultra, but an iPhone 16 Ultra. Gurman expects that the iPhone 16 Ultra will complement the iPhone 16 series, not replace the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
It could well be that the iPhone 16 Ultra will replace the iPhone 16 Plus next year. The iPhone 14 Plus has to deal with extremely poor sales figures, so Apple does not want to release another Plus model. The production process of the iPhone 15 Plus is already too advanced, so an iPhone 15 Plus will appear this year. The iPhone 16 Plus will probably not come.
Here’s what’s new about the iPhone 16 Ultra
It is still unclear how the iPhone 16 Ultra will distinguish itself from the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It is clear that the iPhone 16 Ultra will be even more advanced than the iPhone 16 Pro Max. For example, the high-end phone will probably get even better camera functions, a faster chip and a larger screen. In addition, the charging port may disappear with the iPhone 16 Ultra.

These extra functions will almost certainly be reflected in the price of the device. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is now for sale in the Netherlands from € 1,387. The iPhone 16 Ultra will then be a lot more expensive. How expensive the phone will actually be remains to be seen. In any case, it is clear that Apple is working on the most expensive iPhone ever.
