The iPhone 17e is coming and will have three important new features. This will change with the next iPhone and you can expect this price!
iPhone 17e
Apple is preparing to release the next iPhone! The iPhone 17e will be released in early 2026 and will receive a number of important improvements. There have been rumors for some time that Apple will soon provide the most affordable iPhone with the Dynamic Island. The iPhone 16e has another notch, a notch at the top of the screen. This is needed to hide the front camera and Face ID sensor, but on newer iPhones this is done with the Dynamic Island.
The last regular iPhones without a Dynamic Island were the iPhone 13 and the iPhone 14. The notch at the top of the screen returned with the iPhone 16e, but that now appears to be a one-off. The iPhone 17e will have a Dynamic Island, making the design more similar to the iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and iPhone 17. No further changes are expected to the screen, which remains a 6.1-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz.
Faster chip
The iPhone 17e will therefore have a more modern design, but that is not the only change. Apple provides the next iPhone with the A19 chip, which we previously saw in the iPhone 17. The A19 chip is Apple’s latest processor, which comes standard with 8 GB of RAM. That way, the iPhone 17e has support for Apple Intelligence and no problems handling multiple heavy tasks at the same time.
In addition, the iPhone 17e will have support for MagSafe. The iPhone 16e is still missing the magnetic ring, which means accessories and wireless chargers do not work or work less well with the phone. That was a striking choice by Apple, because regular iPhones have had MagSafe since 2020. In 2026, this feature will finally come to the most affordable iPhone, so that you can use magnetic accessories with all iPhones from now on.
Price of the iPhone 17e
The iPhone 17e gets three important features that make the phone much better than the iPhone 16e. This is not reflected in the price, because Apple reportedly uses the same starting price as the iPhone 16e. You can get the iPhone 16e from Apple for 719 euros, but the price has now dropped enormously from other providers. The lowest price of the iPhone 16e is currently €565, a considerable difference from the starting price at Apple.
It is not yet clear which other features are coming to the iPhone 17e. The device will probably have a 48-megapixel camera on the rear and will be available in black and white, as we previously saw with the iPhone 16e.
