iPhone 17
The iPhone 16 is one of the most attractive basic models to date. The iPhone 17 seems to continue that trend, even though it does not have such an extensive list of new functions as the other models.
- 6.3-inch screen: slightly larger than that of the predecessor, similar to the screen of the iPhone 16 Pro.
- A19 chip: Successor of the A18 chip of the iPhone 16.
- 24-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front: First upgrade of the frontcam in years.
- Promotion and Always-on Display: To the exclusive for the pro models.
- New colors: Purple, green, blue, black and white.
- Expected price: 969 euros, the same as the iPhone 16 last year.
iPhone 17 Air
A brand new Ultradunne iPhone 17 Air replaces the Plus model in the Apple range. It is a futuristic design that is thinner than ever, which is at the expense of the battery life and cameras.
- Ultradun design: only 5.55 mm thick and therefore the thinnest iPhone ever.
- 6.6-inch screen: A new screen size that is between the Pro and the Pro Max.
- A19 Pro chip: the more powerful chip but with only 5 GPU cores.
- 24-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front: First upgrade of the frontcam in years.
- One camera on the back: only a main camera (no ultragro area or tele).
- 12 GB memory: 50 percent more than the 8 GB of earlier models.
- Promotion and Always-on Display: To the exclusive for the pro models.
- C1 modem: The first 5G modem from Apple.
- Colors inspired by other Air products: Light blue, light gold, black and silver.
- Expected price: at 1200 euros, just a bit more expensive than the iPhone 16 Plus last year (1119 euros).
iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
The PRO models are again the best iPhones this year. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max appear in the same sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, but many other functions change.
- New design: camera island over the entire width and aluminum replaces titanium.
- A19 Pro chip: the most powerful new iPhone chip without limitations.
- 24-megapixel TrueDepth camera on the front: First upgrade of the frontcam in years.
- 48-megapixel Televelens: an upgrade of 12 megapixel, which means that all three cameras on the back now have 48 megapixels.
- Larger battery only on the Pro Max: The iPhone with the longest battery life is expanding its lead.
- 12 GB memory: 50 percent more than the 8 GB of earlier models.
- Scratch -resistant anti -reflection screen: New upgrades to compensate that promotion is no longer exclusive for the Pro models.
- More colors: Orange and dark blue are added to silver and black.
- Expected prices: at the 1300 euros and 1550 euros, just a bit more expensive than the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max last year (1229 euros and 1479 euros).
Conclusion
The iPhone 17 Air in particular makes choosing a device from the iPhone 17 series a bit more difficult than normal. The ‘regular’ iPhone 17 has promotion for the first time. The iPhone 17 Air is the most futuristic, but also brings some limitations. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max seem just as powerful as always, but they do not have the same ‘brand new’ attraction as the Air.
