Apple has provided the Calendar app on the iPhone with a hidden function in iOS 26, which is very useful. This is how the new feature works!
iPhone Calendar Hidden Feature
The Calendar app on the iPhone has a handy new feature! Apple released iOS 26 in September, bringing many changes to the iPhone. Almost all of Apple’s standard applications have been expanded with improvements and more features. This also applies to the Calendar app, which has been given a hidden extra function in iOS 26. It has become much easier to add events to the calendar.
Are you going to a concert or sports match soon? Or are you planning another event? From now on you no longer have to manually add this to the calendar on your iPhone. Instead, you take a screenshot of the event, and with the help of Apple Intelligence it is then automatically added to your calendar. Wondering how this hidden feature of the Calendar app works? We will explain to you where you can find the new option.

This is how the new feature works
To add an event to your calendar using Apple Intelligence, you must have iOS 26.1 installed on your iPhone. Has your iPhone been updated to this software version? Make sure that Apple Intelligence is enabled. Only then can you use the hidden feature for the Calendar app on your iPhone. You can then find it in the following way:
- Unlock your iPhone;
- Find the event you want to add to the agenda;
- Take a screenshot of the event;
You can take a screenshot by pressing the lock and bottom volume buttons simultaneously.
- Below the screen recording, tap ‘Mark to Search’;
- Choose ‘Put in Agenda’;
- Finally, select ‘Create activity’.
This hidden iPhone Calendar feature makes saving events much easier. Is data incorrect when adding the event? Then tap ‘Edit’ instead of ‘Create activity’. You can change the name and time of the event there yourself. This way you can be sure that the activity appears correctly in the Calendar app.

More about the Calendar app
The Calendar app on the iPhone has a handy hidden function in iOS 26.1. Please note, because this improvement is part of Apple Intelligence. All new functions of Apple Intelligence have been available in Dutch since iOS 26.1, but not all iPhones work with the new technology. For Apple Intelligence you need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer. Previous devices do not support Apple Intelligence.
Adding events to the Calendar app just got a lot easier with the hidden feature.
