Have you ever wondered how much profit Apple makes on an iPhone? Then we have good news for you, because the answer is out there. That’s how much Apple earns from one iPhone 13 Pro.
How does Apple make money off the iPhone 13 Pro?
Website TechInsights has completely disassembled the new iPhone 13 Pro. Then they looked at how much all the different parts cost.
If you add these prices together, you arrive at an amount of 570 dollars, about 490 euros. That is 20 dollars (~17 euros) more than Apple spent at the time to produce its predecessor, the iPhone 12 Pro.
Fortunately, the suggested retail price (of 1159 euros for the entry-level model) of the new iPhone has remained the same. That speaks in favor of Apple: the company has added all kinds of new parts to the iPhone 13 Pro.
Think, for example, of the better ProMotion screen. This display refreshes the pixels (up to) 120 times per second, instead of 60 times on the iPhone 12 Pro. The 13 Pro also has a larger battery, better processor and the cameras have been overhauled.

Not a complete picture
The fact that it costs Apple 490 euros to produce an iPhone 13 Pro does not mean that the company makes more than 600 euros profit per unit sold. In the calculation example of TechInsights for example, the costs associated with developing a new iPhone model are not taken into account. Distribution and other selling costs are also not included.
TechInsights has also found out how much Samsung has lost to make its top device. According to the website, the South Korean manufacturer has lost $508 to buy one Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus to produce. This device had a suggested retail price of 1049 euros when it was released at the beginning of this year.
