This is how the new Honda Civic!

Honda has unveiled the Civic Prototype. The Civic Prototype is a near production-ready preview of the new Honda Civic.

Honda has a completely new and already eleventh generation of the Civic in the development rooms. That all-new Civic breaks considerably with the current generation of Honda’s compact middle class. The car promises to be a lot more mature, but also a bit more generic. Honda today shows the Civic Prototype, a production-ready looking version of the all-new Civic. The Civic Prototype is a sedan, but a new Civic Hatchback will also arrive in the long term. The American market can also count on a new Civic Coupé. In any case, the latter body style will not come to Europe.

The Civic Prototype confirms once and for all that the patent sketches that Techzle was able to show exclusively at the end of September actually related to the new Civic. The Civic Prototype looks almost one to one on the patent plates that we had dived from the new Civic Sedan. The new Civic Sedan – and thus the new Civic – has a completely new front end that is very similar to that of big brother Accord. The Civic gets a more subtly designed grille and wider and flatter headlights. The whole looks a lot quieter than the front of the current Civic. We also find fewer lines on the side.

The front is strongly reminiscent of that of the current Accord. The lines on the sides are also a lot quieter. The rising shoulder line that currently already starts at the rear door, moves a bit to the rear, which makes the arrival of a third side window possible. The rear of the Hatchback has been stripped of the rear window divided into two parts by the rear spoiler. The boomerang-shaped taillights must also clear the field. Where the current Civic Sedan strongly resembles its Hatchback brother, the sedan now actually has a clearly recognizable body as a sedan. Just like the front of the Civic Prototype, the rear of the car is also reminiscent of that of the Accord. The Civic Sedan also has to do without C- / boomerang-shaped rear lights. Instead, the car has slightly interchangeable but mostly quiet-looking lighting that extends into the tailgate.

The new Civic Hatchback also promises a much milder design. The rear spoiler that cuts the rear window in two disappears and, just like the new Civic Sedan, the soon-to-be new Hatchback has to do without the characteristic rear lights. Lovers of horny hatchbacks can count on the arrival of a fierce Civic Type-R.

Interior

Honda immediately releases a sketch of the Civic Prototype’s interior. The interior also looks very ready for production and, like the exterior of the car, is more quietly designed than that of the current Civic. A ventilation grille runs over almost the entire width of the dashboard. The rest looks quite minimalist. A 9-inch large infotainment display on top of the dashboard. We do not come across striking things.
