Apple has already announced in 2022 that CarPlay will receive a major update, but we are still waiting for the new generation of the operating system. With the new generation of the operating system you can operate many more functions of your car, which is reflected in the new apps. Other car systems are also better integrated with CarPlay, such as the car’s radio and cameras. At WWDC, Apple also unveiled several designs of CarPlay 2.0. A design company has taken this furtherdevelopers have designed CarPlay 2.0 for old iconic cars. Watch the video here:
CarPlay interface
The video shows what CarPlay 2.0 would look like in seven iconic cars. The designs were made for the Porsche 911 Turbo (1975), Ferrari Testarossa (1984), Acura NSX (1991), Honda S2000 (2000), Chevrolet Corvette C4 (1984), DeLorean (1981) and Lancia Delta Integrale (1989). Each design takes into account the characteristic parts of each car, to create a unique design.
It is expected that you will have more freedom in organizing and arranging the interface. You may also be able to choose the designs of older cars with CarPlay 2.0, as shown in the video. That chance seems small for now, but you can probably choose which colors CarPlay 2.0 will have and what the background will be. That is already a big change, because with the current generation you have no choice at all.
Release of CarPlay 2.0
