New software updates are available, which already reveal a new Apple product. This is what this device is all about!
macOS 26.3 is out
Apple has released a series of software updates for developers, including the Release Candidates of iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3. The new test versions not only add new functions for the iPhone and Mac, they also reveal a completely new Apple device. Apple has added previously unknown codes to the software, which refer to new processors. Apple probably uses these codes to describe the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips in the new MacBook Pro.

The codes T6051/H17C and T6052/H17D were found in iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3. If we look at the structure of these codes, we probably refer to a Max and an Ultra chip. Apple has applied the same notation to the M4 Max chip (T6041/H16C) and the M3 Ultra chip (T6032/H15D), meaning that the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips are most likely registered in the same way. The fact that these new processors have appeared in iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3 means that the new MacBook Pro will appear soon.
New version of the MacBook Pro
The current generation of the MacBook Pro was released in October 2025. The laptop switched from the M4 to the M5 chip and has a 14-inch screen. Apple has not released the 16-inch version of the MacBook Pro 2025, which will probably be released soon. With the new MacBook Pro with 16-inch display, you will soon be able to choose between the M5, M5 Max and M5 Ultra chip. The 14-inch version is also expanded with these new processors.
It is striking that the M5 Pro chip is still missing, because it is expected in the new version of the MacBook Pro. Apple is not yet referring to this chip, but it is quite possible that it will be added in the final versions of iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3. In any case, with the codes, Apple reveals that the MacBook Pro will be equipped with new processors. We don’t have to wait long for that, because the new Apple product will appear soon.
MacBook Pro release
According to the usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman, the MacBook Pro with the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips will be released around the same time as iOS 26.3 and macOS 26.3. Apple has released the final test versions of these updates to developers, meaning the final software versions will be released soon. These updates are expected to arrive along with the new Apple product in the week of February 9, 2026 be released.
That week we will know for sure which processors the MacBook Pro will be equipped with. The laptop may receive more minor improvements, although no major changes are expected.
