This popular app finally returns to the App Store
The app that we mean is of course Fortnite. Apple and Epic have been in conflict for years about the game, but now this long -term discussion seems to be finally coming to an end. The founder of Epic Games (Tim Sweeney) said on X that they want to put Fortnite back in the App Store next week. Apple must of course still approve this.
But Sweeney is confident that this will happen. Epic has won a lawsuit in which it was decided that Fortnite should return to the (American) App Store.
Apple threw Fortnite from the App Store because you could make purchases in the Store of Fortnite. Apple does not allow this and requires apps to make digital purchases through their system and then asks about 15 and 30 percent commission for that. When Epic did not want to participate in this, Fortnite was taken from the App Store.
After winning the lawsuit, SEENEY offered to drop all other things when Apple Fortnite puts it back in the App Store without any problems. If Fortnite does indeed return, you still can’t make any purchases in the app and you have to buy the virtual currency via the Epic website. Apple will then not have a commission on the purchases.
It is not yet certain whether Apple will accept the judge’s decision to put Fortnite back in the Apple Store. They can still appeal and ask for a postponement. Apple has done this more often with other things and may also try this time.
In Europe, Fortnite could of course still be downloaded via Epic’s own App Store. But that meant that you first had to download the Epic App Store to your iPhone. When Fortnite returns to the App Store, it becomes a lot easier to download the app.
Fortnite is a free online game in which you fight against other players to be left last. The game plays on an island and the most popular game mode is called ‘Battle Royale’. This mode combines shooting action with building and strategy. But Fortnite has many more game modes in which players can play against each other or just play together.
Fortnite has a PEGI-Age classification of 12 years and older because of the violence in the game. Players use different weapons, including semi-realistic guns, to beat other players. There is no blood to see and no injuries. Parental supervision is recommended.
The game is free to download and play. You can spend money on in-game purchases such as characters, outfits, dances and a ‘battle pass’ with extra rewards.
The game is fast, competitive and is very often updated with new content. In addition, there are regular collaborations with well -known brands, celebrities and events are often held. Being able to play together with your friends makes the game extra attractive.
