The most important function of an iPhone case is of course protecting your iPhone. That is reason enough to consider this case. We are talking about the covers from the Otterbox Commuter series.
The Otterbox Commuter Case has a double construction consisting of a hard dish and a loose rubber layer on the inside. The fit is perfect and the rubber on the outside also offers excellent grip. Of course you can simply charge your iPhone wireless without having to remove the case.
The case is so robust that it is the military fall standards (MIL-STD-810G 516.6) surpasses three times and yet so thin that you don’t feel that there is a huge bumper around your iPhone. A handy extra function
The handy extra function of the case solves a problem that we wrote about before. Namely the problem that sooner or later dust always collected in the charging gate. That may not immediately seem like a big problem, but every time you connect the charging cable, press the dust firmer. After a while it will no longer be possible to get the gate completely clean again.
Prevention is, as always, better than cure, so a cheap solution for this is a dustproof plug. That works great, but has one big disadvantage: if you use an iPhone case, you can only remove the dust-tight plug if you first remove the case. And that is of course not practical if you want to charge your iPhone quickly.
An iPhone case with an integrated dust valve for the charging gate is the obvious answer to this. Only they can hardly be found here in the Netherlands.
