According to another article on Apple’s website, iPhones running versions older than iOS 11 no longer sync Safari bookmarks via iCloud. If you have such an old iPhone, you will not immediately lose your current bookmarks. But new bookmarks will no longer be synced to other devices and vice versa. This changed Safari feature also affects Macs running versions earlier than macOS Sierra 10.12.5.
According to Apple, it is important to update the devices to iOS 11 or higher to continue using the Safari function. Or to macOS Sierra 10.12.6 or higher. Only then can you continue to sync Safari bookmarks via iCloud. If you don’t have a compatible device, Apple will make the bookmarks available on iCloud.com.
