If you no longer want messages, conversations or status updates from someone on WhatsApp, you can block that person. This is how you really do it well.
This way you can really block someone in WhatsApp
Sometimes you have those people who keep texting you (unwanted) in WhatsApp. That is especially irritating, but you would rather be rid of real spammers and scammers than rich. Fortunately, you can easily block someone on WhatsApp. We show you how best to do this.
There are several ways you can block someone in WhatsApp. Below you can read how to block someone who sends you unwanted messages. Then we’ll show you how to keep one of your contacts silent from now on.

Step-by-step plan: this is how you can quickly block someone who sends unwanted messages on WhatsApp
- Open WhatsApp;
- Tap the chat with the person you want to block;
- At the top of the chat screen, tap the number or profile picture;
- Scroll down and tap Block.
This way you can block anyone who has messaged you. But if you want to block a contact who hasn’t messaged you yet (or you’ve deleted the messages), you can block them in another way.
- Open WhatsApp and tap ‘Settings’;
- Scroll down and tap ‘Contacts’;
- Choose ‘Blocked’;
- Tap ‘Add…’;
- Select the contact you want to block.

Blocked contacts in WhatsApp can no longer do this
Blocked contacts or phone numbers can no longer call you or send you messages. The Last Seen feature, your online status, status updates, and changes you make to your profile photo will also no longer be visible to blocked senders.
Good to know: if you change your phone number and use the same WhatsApp account, your blocked contacts will remain blocked.
