Apple released many products in 2022, but also pulled some of them from the market. These five products disappeared from the Apple Store last year.
These products will disappear in 2022
Apple released enough products and updates again this year. In 2022, we saw the announcement of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, the iPhone 14 Pro and a new MacBook Air, among other things. At the same time, this meant the end of a number of devices. These five products will disappear from the Apple Store in 2022.
1.Apple Watch Series 3
In 2022, Apple released the most expensive Apple Watch ever. With the release of the Apple Watch Ultra, the cheapest Apple Watch also disappeared from the market: the third generation Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch 3 was still for sale for 220 euros, making it an accessible entry-level model in the Watch series. The now outdated watch has now received a worthy replacement in the Apple Watch SE 2. The Apple watch 3 was (and is) a beautiful smartwatch, but it was indeed time for the new generations.

2. iPhone 11
Last year, Apple again released no less than four new models of iPhones. The iPhone 14 (Plus) and the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) heralded the end of the iPhone 11. The iPhone 11 also had more than enough successors, but it is still a striking choice that Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 11.
The iPhone 11 is the only iPhone with the ‘old’ borderless design, so it was expected that the iPhone 11 would remain in circulation for a while. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that Apple will use the design of the iPhone 11 for the new iPhone SE, which will probably appear in 2024.

3. Apple TV HD
In October 2022, Apple launched its latest media player. Thanks to the powerful hardware, the Apple TV 4K 2022 is ideal for gamers and the Siri Remote is much nicer to use. Movies and series also look very good thanks to 4K and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 +.
The Apple TV therefore received a major upgrade, which makes it understandable that the Apple TV HD from 2015 is no longer sold. The Apple TV HD was only $20 less than the new Apple TV and was no longer a good deal in almost every way. With poorer image quality, less memory, and slower controls, it was indeed time to make way for the Apple TV 4K.
4. iPod Touch
Apple announced the sad news last year that the company would end production of the iPod touch. The advanced MP3 player had been overtaken by its time and had therefore become obsolete. In 2001, Apple released the first iPod, which put the company and iTunes even further on the map.
So no new iPods will be made in 2023, which we secretly think is a bit of a shame. The nostalgic device served as a great ‘iPhone Lite’: you can do everything with it that an iPhone can do, except make calls. Unfortunately, due to all the new iPhones, the iPod became obsolete for Apple, but as far as we are concerned, the music player will not be forgotten.
5. 27 inch Mac
In 2020, Apple quite unexpectedly announced a new Mac with a 27-inch screen. The iMac (2020) built on the design of its predecessors. The 27-inch desktop used an Intel processor and was therefore not equipped with an M processor, Apple’s own chips. This is probably the reason for the end of this large iMac: in 2022 Apple decided to stop production.
From now on we have to make do with the 24-inch version of the iMac. The large iMac was mainly used by graphics professionals, who are now – as Apple prefers to see – move to the Mac Studio. It is equipped with fast chips and a lot of memory. Together with the Studio Display, Apple’s new monitor, the set is complete. The 27-inch Mac probably won’t be missed by many people.
We expect these products in 2023
These products disappeared from the Apple Store and we will therefore not see them again in 2023, but which products will appear this year? This year we expect, among other things, the first version of the Apple Reality and much more. Read our predictions from Apple for 2023 here.
