Toyota expands with electric Proace Verso Electric

Toyota already offers the Proace as a fully electric Proace Electric, now the electric version of the Proace Verso and Proace Shuttle is also being added. Toyota immediately reports the starting price of the passenger bus.

In addition to the electrically powered PSA triplets Citroën ë-Jumpy, Peugeot e-Expert and Opel Vivaro-e, there is of course a fourth brother: the Toyota Proace Electric. The passenger variants of the Citroën, Peugeot and Opel have now also been equipped with an electric powertrain and Toyota is now following. The choice consists of the Proace Shuttle Electric or the more luxuriously equipped Proace Verso. In both cases, the drive comes from the well-known 136 hp and 260 Nm strong electric motor. It derives its power from a battery pack with a capacity of 50 kWh or 75 kWh. With the first, it will reach 230 km (WLTP), the largest battery pack provides a range of 330 km. In about 10 minutes you can charge 100 km of range on the fast charger. The top speed is limited to 130 km / h.

So far no big surprises. The main difference with the regular Proace Electric is of course what happens inside. In the Proace Verso Electric you will find eight seats. Two in the front, followed by two rows of seats with three seats per row. The Proace Shuttle has an extra place in the front. With all seats up you have 280 liters of luggage space with the Compact, 640 liters with the Medium or 1.060 with the Long. Those who need more space can lay the chairs flat. The seat in the second row by the door can be folded forward completely to facilitate entry to the third row.

As standard, the Shuttle and Verso have a 7-inch multimedia screen on which Android Auto and Apple Carplay work, seat heating, DAB + radio and automatically folding exterior mirrors. Options include automatic air conditioning and satellite navigation. Prices start at € 34,795 excluding VAT for the Shuttle Electric. Delivery will start in March 2021.
