Traveling by car? With these 4 apps you pay less for a full tank

Refueling is becoming less and less fun because of the high prices. With these 4 apps you will find the cheapest fuel prices of the moment.

These apps make a full tank cheaper

Refueling is becoming more and more expensive. This is partly due to the war in Ukraine, but also because of the rising taxes with an eye on the environment. Understandable, but very annoying for the wallet. Fortunately, there are a number of apps that will help you get the cheapest fuel in your tank. Read on quick!

1. ANWB En route

ANWB On the Road is perhaps the most obvious app to use on the go. The app not only finds the best fuel deals for you, but also keeps you informed about traffic jams, speed cameras and road works. ANWB Weg is also an excellent route planner.

Is your tank almost empty? ANWB On the road shows the current fuel prices of filling stations in your area. In the settings menu of you specify what type of fuel your car runs. Think of Diesel or Euro 95. Fortunately, the app also takes electric cars into account. ANWB On the road also tells you where to find a charging station. You can even filter by type of plug (such as CHAdeMO or the Tesla Model S Plug) and power.

2. DirectLease Tank Service

Do you want a good alternative to ANWB On the Road? Then there is DirectLease Tank Service. DirectLease is a car leasing company that has been offering a Tank Service service for a while in the form of a free app. The app shows all available gas stations in your area, complete with a handy route map.

At each filling station it is stated how much the petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG and other fuel types cost. You can also check per gas station which additional facilities are available. For example, think of a shop where you can get a soggy ball sandwich. Finally, there is the brand filter, with which you can easily find gas stations from Shell, Esso, Texaco, Firezone and many more.

3. Tanky

With Tankey you get a discount if you are a customer of partners of the app. These are large companies such as Energiedirect.nl, HEMA, De Bijenkorf and T-Mobile. For example, are you taking out a new telephone subscription with T-Mobile? Then you can get a discount of up to 20 cents per liter of fuel with Tankey, on top of the price you pay at the pump.

That is of course a plus, but unfortunately the app has a number of drawbacks. For example, not all gas stations support the app. So make sure you check this before hanging on to the pump.

4. 1-2-3 Refueling

The 1-2-3 refueling app is only useful if you live near the German border. This app shows all current fuel prices in Germany. Prices fluctuate throughout the day, so the app may be wrong sometimes. In general, however, this is not so bad and the app is a godsend for anyone who can regularly be found in Germany or lives close to the border.

Fuel prices continue to rise

As annoying as it is; fuel prices will continue to rise in the coming months. The war in Ukraine is still in full swing and Russia is being increasingly sanctioned, as a result of which the country no longer supplies fuel to the outside world. The price for a full tank will therefore continue to be disappointing, even if you use these handy apps.
