This brings TVOS 26 to your Apple TV
Apple has announced a new version for all operating systems and also for the Apple TV. Those new versions all receive the sequence number 26. As a result, TVOS is passing from TVOS 18 to TVOS 26, just like iOS.
Just like iOS 26, TVOS 26 gets a design from Liquid Glass. It gives Apple TV a lively appearance that reflects the environment with the help of real -time rendering. The new design keeps the content central, even during ahead and reversing, and adjusting settings in the control panel.
The Apple TV app has also been redesigned, so that more programs and films can be displayed. This should help to find fun content faster on Apple TV+. In addition, TVOS 26 is introducing a new API for developers who links App-Logins to an Apple account. This will give you even easier access to your favorite apps, programs and films.
Apple Music
In TVOS 26 it is possible to turn your iPhone into a microphone for your Apple TV. So you can strengthen your voice while you sing your favorite songs. Thanks to real -time lyrics, Sing in Apple Music is even more fun than it already was. If you have a party, everyone with his or her own iPhone can add songs to the playlist and respond with emoji on the screen.
Facetime
With TVOS 26 you can personalize your facetime experience even more by displaying a custom photo and the name of the contact person. The live captions function is expanded with French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish, so that you can follow what is said in more other languages. Reports from Facetime-Audio telephone calls appear on the screen for the active profile. As a result, it is also possible to answer via connected HomePod speakers or an iPhone.
TVOS 26 will be released in September
To use all these new functions, you still have to be patient. The new TVOS 26 will only appear in September to the general public. If you want to be able to enjoy Liquid Glass and your iPhone as a microphone for Apple Music Sing, make sure you have an Apple TV 4K of the third generation. If you have an older version, you will receive the update, but not all new functions are available.
