Video of the week: Apple Watch Series 8 tested

The Apple Watch Series 8 has been out for a while now and we have now extensively tested it for you. What are the new features? And does it all work well? Check it out in our Apple Watch Series 8 video review!

Apple Watch Series 8: New Health Features

The Apple Watch Series 8 is very similar in appearance to the Apple Watch Series 7. The new Apple Watch does come with a few cool new health functions. For example, the Watch Series 8 now has a particularly accurate sensor for measuring body temperature. This feature allows women to monitor their menstrual cycle.

In addition, this new Apple Watch is equipped with ‘crash detection’, which registers when you have an accident with your car. Apple uses, among other things, the gyroscope, the accelerometer and artificial intelligence to register the crash.

WatchOS 9: low power mode and more improvements

By the way: in watchOS 9, on which the Apple Watch Series 8 runs, there is of course a new one low power mode. This works from the Watch Series 4 or higher. This means your Apple Watch lasts no less than 36 hours on a single charge. WatchOS 9 comes with no fewer than four new watch faces, all with an astronomy theme.

Your Apple Watch with watchOS 9 can also track your sleep even better. Your Apple Watch now knows whether you are in REM, core or deep sleep. WatchOS 9 can only be installed on an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer.
