If you still don’t know: Volkswagen presents the brand new ID4 this week. The teaser campaign is still running at full speed in anticipation of that moment. The last set of mysterious photos shows the lamps: they have remained shielded from the outside world until now.
Camouflaged test cars, sketches, shadowy teasers and now the details: almost every aspect can be checked off in the Volkswagen ID4 teaser campaign. Today Volkswagen shares the headlights together with the rear lights razor-sharp with the rest of the world. At the front, Volkswagen works with familiar shapes. The same light is already on the previously unveiled ID3. The inner corner of these new lamps are only slightly more pointed than the more compact ID3. The ID4 does get the same narrow LED strip that runs almost the entire nose.
There is more news at the back. Where the ID3 gets a contrasting black tailgate, Volkswagen simply paints the rear entrance of the ID4 in the same color as the rest of the car. In case this teased ID4 is gold. Furthermore, a new light bar also extends almost the entire width of the rear and everything forms one whole. The layout of the lamps consists of several blocks that, as shown below, turn on or off one after the other. Time has to tell whether this is possible with any ID4. It is also possible that Volkswagen will only keep this option for a more luxurious version.
The ID4 is the second model from Volkswagen’s new ID family on the new MEB platform. In terms of technology, the novice leans on the existing technology from the ID3. However, it is expected that Volkswagen will come up with other battery packs for the more spacious SUV. We will know more in two days, when Volkswagen will unveil the brand new ID4.
