“Volkswagen reopens Polo factory in Spain”

Volkswagen hopes to reopen its Spanish factory in Navarre in less than two weeks. The Polo is being built there; one of the most important models for the brand.

In mid-March, Volkswagen closed its Spanish factory due to the global outbreak of the corona virus. According to Reuters, a spokesperson has confirmed that the factory is about to open again. This should happen from Monday April 20. In the first week, one of the three shifts should be able to resume work.

That one shift per day would start for four days in the first week. For the following weeks, more and more usual work shifts must be resumed. However, this also depends on supplies from external suppliers.

About 4,800 employees work in the Spanish Navarre. They are good for the production of the Polo and the raised T-Cross.
