Volvo EX30 dethrones Tesla Model Y

The Tesla Model Y has been at the top of the Dutch registration figures for years. In April, however, the Model Y was for once not the most popular new passenger car, but also not the most popular new EV. That was… the Volvo EX30!

When the Volvo EX30 made its public debut in the middle of last year, it immediately became clear that the electric crossover could score well in the Netherlands. For example, the electric XC40/EX40 did and continues to do quite well in the Netherlands and with the EX30, Volvo seems to be able to translate that success story to a smaller and more affordable segment. The Volvo EX30 is available from €36,795 and for that money you immediately get an EV with 272 hp of electric power and a range of 337 kilometers. In March, the Volvo EX30 appeared for the first time in the top list of monthly registrations. In the Top 5 of the most registered electric cars of March, the EX30 was in third place, behind the Model 3 and the Tesla Model Y, which occupied the highest position on the podium. A month later, the Volvo EX30 dethroned them both. .

In April, the Volvo EX30 was the most registered electric car in our country. 1,459 copies were registered. This means that 1 in 6 of all new EVs registered in April was a Volvo EX30. In the first four months of this year, 3,050 Volvo EX30s have already been registered. The Volvo EX30 has already surpassed the Tesla Model 3. Of these, 3,036 were registered up to and including April. The Tesla Model Y is still in the lead with 5,174 registrations in the first four months of this year. Back to April: the Tesla Model Y finished in second place with 1,048 registrations. The electric variant of the Kia Niro, the recently called EX40 electric flavors of the Volvo XC40 and the Tesla Model 3 fill the rest of the top five.
