The still very young Voyah has a new study model: the i-Free. The i-Free is a preview of – how could it be otherwise – a fully electric SUV.
The Chinese giant Dongfeng started a new brand in the middle of this year: Voyah. Under the Voyah brand name, Dongfeng wants to produce crossovers, SUVs and MPVs, models that must all have a fully electric powertrain. Although Voyah would mainly focus on MPVs and high-legged cars, the brand’s first concept car was remarkably a four-seater coupé. The concept car, christened i-Land, will now be joined by the i-Free, a study model that fits perfectly into the picture sketched by Voyah earlier this year.
The i-Free is a study model with which Voyah is looking forward to a fully electric SUV. Voyah does not release extensive specifications, although the brand does say that there is a platform specifically intended for EVs hidden under the skin.
The SUV has an aggressive front with thin, flat sights and almost an abundance of curves. On the back is an LED strip running across the entire width of the buttocks, which is now a fashionable design element. Striking are the grilles at the bottom of the rear window, which are somewhat reminiscent of the air grilles that Porsche applies to the rear of both the Panamera and the 911. Somewhere next year Voyah will present a production version derived from this study model. Dongfeng has as yet no concrete plans to bring Voyah to Europe.
