The new Formula 1 season is about to start again, with the Australian Grand Prix. Are you ready to follow all the qualifications and competitions? Then you only have a few options when choosing streaming services. Viaplay has owned the broadcast rights to Formula 1 for a number of years, but regularly increases subscription prices.
Viaplay prices
At Viaplay you can currently choose from three different subscriptions. The basic annual subscription costs 16.99 euros per month, with this option you will see advertisements for an annual amount of 203.88 euros. You pay for a standard annual subscription 19.99 euros per month, that is 239.88 euros per year (Until March 29, 2026 you only pay 179 euros for 1 year). The subscription also lasts twelve months, but you will not see any advertisements. For the monthly subscription without commercials, sign up 21.99 euros down. If you don’t mind advertising, then you pay 19.99 euros per month.
Formula 1 via F1 TV
Do you think the prices for Viaplay are too high and are you looking for alternatives to watch Formula 1 cheaper? Then F1 TV is the right choice, because you can watch the F1 qualifications and races for a much lower price! You get F1 TV as standard with Viaplay, but a separate subscription to the streaming service is much cheaper.
F1 TV is the official streaming service of Formula 1 and is much cheaper than Viaplay. With the service you can watch all F1 sessions, including qualifying and races. You have to choose the right subscription for this, because F1 TV offers three monthly options.
1. F1 TV Access
The cheapest subscription is F1 TV Access 3.99 euros per month. With this subscription you can listen to the team radios, see exclusive programs and content from the race weekends and watch replays of the races.
2. F1 TV Pro
Do you want to follow every qualifying and race live? Then you end up with the F1 TV Pro subscription, for which you pay monthly 11.99 euros pays. That is much cheaper than Viaplay, while you watch all F1 sessions commercial-free. You also have access to all live on-board cameras, team radios and watch the F2, F3, F1 Academy and Porsche Supercup. These options are missing with the cheaper subscription, but you do get them with F1 TV Pro.
3. F1 TV Premium
With the third of these alternatives to Viaplay you pay monthly 17.99 eurosyou can watch Formula 1 live in 4K on multiple devices at the same time. With the most expensive subscription you can still watch Formula 1 cheaper than with Viaplay. Please note, because with Viaplay you get many more series and films. That is not the case with F1 TV, with this streaming service you only get F1 content. In this way, the streaming service is much cheaper than Viaplay.
