Apple has released a new watchOS version! These cool features come to your Apple Watch with watchOS 10 and these watches have support.

Apple releases watchOS 10

Just update! Apple has released watchOS 10 for your Apple Watch, one of the biggest watchOS updates in years. With watchOS 10, several new features come to your Apple Watch, including widgets. We already saw widgets on the iPhone and iPad, but now they are finally coming to Apple’s smartwatch. These are the most important features of watchOS 10!

1. Widgets are finally added to watchOS

In watchOS 10, widgets finally come to your Apple Watch. Of course, we already know widgets from the iPhone, iPad and Mac and now it is the turn of the Apple Watch. With the new widgets, you don’t have to open an app every time to view certain information or to perform a quick action. The widgets can be found on different pages, which you can switch between with the Digital Crown.

These pages are also called smart stacks. A smart stack consists of widgets that show information at the right time and adapt it to the context. This information appears in watchOS 10 when you turn the Digital Crown from any watch face. For example, you will see the weather forecast in the morning and Agenda will appear at the top of the stack if you have scheduled a meeting.

2. New watch faces for the Apple Watch

In watchOS 10 you get two nice new watch faces. The first is Palette: a colorful dial, the colors of which change during the day. The second is a Snoopy clock face. This clock face shows funny animations with Snoopy and Woodstock. They move and play with the hands, and react to the weather, among other things. Very nice! 3. More features for Cycling and Walking in watchOS 10

Of course, new health features are also coming to watchOS 10. When you start a cycling workout on an Apple Watch with watchOS 10, the training automatically appears as a live activity on iPhone. You can then tap on the activity to view more information. You will then see things such as heart rate zones, altitude, route and cycling speed at a glance on your iPhone.

In addition, the Apple Watch tracks your walking route more accurately in watchOS 10. With watchOS 10, the Compass app automatically generates two new waypoints. The waypoint for the last mobile data connection is an estimate of the last place with mobile coverage. The second waypoint is the last place where you connected to a mobile provider. This way you know which location you have to walk back to, for example, to make an (emergency) call.

4. New app for your mental health

In watchOS 10, Apple also introduces features to focus on your mental health. With the new Mindfulness app you can record your emotions and moods. You then indicate what your feelings and emotions are at that moment. In combination with data from your sleep and exercise, your Watch determines whether you suffer from depression or anxiety (or are at risk for it).
