The latest update from Waze adds handy new functions to the Navigation app-we list the best for you.
Waze is launching new functions
Waze has released update version 5.4 that makes driving with the navigation app even easier, safer and more relaxed.

Relaxing driving with Chaka Khan
To begin with, Waze has added a new voice and that is no one but the queen of the funk: Chaka Khan. She gives navigation guidance in a calming way for a relaxed car ride. In addition to singer, Chaka Khan (real name Yvette Marie Stevens) is also a mediator and in favor of Mindfulness. While driving, she reminds you to take a deep breath and try to evoke positive energy.
The navigation voice is only available in English, but the entire update is live in Waze worldwide. So if you put the app in the settings in English, you can simply use the Chaka Khan’s voice. Incidentally, you can choose many different voices in Waze. For example, you come across Christina Aguilera, but also The Minions!
Many more updates
Waze has also received even more new functions. For example, it is now possible to see Waze’s route on the digital screen in your car. This means you no longer have to look at your iPhone while driving. This new function is currently available for drivers of BMW, Polestar, Volvo and certain Ford models. It is not yet clear when other car brands can also use this function.

Furthermore, it is now visible in Apple CarPlay how long a route control takes. That of course only works when a route calculation is active, because Waze must know how long your route runs through such a route control (this new function is already available in Belgium, but will probably follow soon in the Netherlands). In addition, it is now easier to navigate to favorite locations with a new special button on the screen. The intention of this is to make Waze more user -friendly on CarPlay.
Waze has also been updated with support for speed bumps. Other updates are warnings for merging lanes, changes in speed limits, improved navigation on roundabouts and more reports to make the road more predictable and safer.
