With Facebook it is possible to shield information. This way, for example, only Facebook friends see your status updates and no one else. Wondering what your Facebook page looks like to strangers? Check it through Facebook’s website or app.

Check the display on a computer through the Facebook website.
- Go to facebook.com. Log in if necessary.
- Click on your name in the menu. Click on the down arrow first .
- Click the eye icon below the cover photo to get into the ‘View as’ view.
- The profile page now looks as it appears to non-friends.
- Click directly below the menu on Exit ‘View as’ to close this view again.
Public information on Facebook (app)
Check the display on an Android device or iPad/iPhone through the Facebook app as follows:
- Open the app facebook.
- Tap the three horizontal bars in the menu.
- Tap your own name.
- Under the profile picture, tap the three dots icon .
- Tap on Show as.
- The profile page now looks as it appears to non-friends.
- Tap the cross in the top right or Close view return to normal page view.
