What is Google Drive?

What is Google Drive?Google Drive is the free online storage service of the internet company Google. What can you do with this so-called cloud service from Google?

Google Drive allows people to store files on the web (in the cloud) to use them on different devices. The company makes space available in a data center for this. Google Drive is a so-called cloud service.

Many people know Google from the search engine of the same name. But Google is much more than that. The company has all kinds of services such as YouTube, Maps and Gmail. The search giant also has its own storage services: Google Drive and Google Photos.

Google Drive allows people to store, edit and share files online. You can also work on a document with someone else. The storage service can handle all kinds of files, such as text documents, spreadsheets, music and photos. Because the files are on the Internet, they are available from all kinds of devices. The service works via a website, an app for smartphones and tablets and via a program on the computer.

Google Drive works in any case on all devices with an internet connection and an internet browser. Via the website www.google.com/drive users can always access their files. But there is also a program for Windows computer, Mac computer, iPhone, iPad and for Android devices. People can therefore easily exchange their files between the different devices. For example, if a document is put on the Internet in Google Drive, it can then also be viewed and edited via other linked devices, such as the smartphone.

These are the rates including VAT (prices 2021). The paid version is called Google One, but otherwise works the same as Google Drive.
