WhatsApp will soon get an AI function in the app, but you cannot disable Hemt. Are your chats still safe?
WhatsApp AI function you can’t switch off (are your chats still safe?)
WhatsApp will soon also have its own AI function in the Netherlands. Meta started rolling out the chatbot. In WhatsApp you can tap the ‘Chats’ tab on the blue circle to use the AI function. You can then ask this chatbot questions about a variety of topics, just like with Chatgpt, among other things.

Do you not find it that WhatsApp will get this AI function? Then we have bad news: the position cannot be turned off. A German user who already has the function It asked the chatbot in WhatsApp if it was possible to turn off the function. The AI responded that it was not possible.
Meta (the parent company of WhatsApp, among others) says that all messages are encrypted. However, the AI-Bot must be able to read the questions you ask. Otherwise he can’t answer them. So always pay attention to what kind of information you share in the questions you ask the chatbot. Because switching off the AI function in WhatsApp is therefore not possible.

Incidentally, the AI-Chatbot will soon be available not only in WhatsApp, but will also be used in Facebook, Instagram and Messenger. The AI-Bot will be rolled out in the coming weeks. So you may have to wait a while before you can get started with it yourself.
More AI functions for WhatsApp
In Europe we have to do it for the time being with a stripped-down version of the AI-Chatbot from WhatsApp. While users in America can now enjoy themselves with all kinds of extras, such as taking images or asking questions about photos, Meta is currently limited to chat conversations here. Whether and when we will get these fun functions will remain a mystery.
