WhatsApp is going to make improvements to the reaction emoji

While the comments on WhatsApp are now fully used, the company is already working on improvements for the comments. It is working on commenting options on shared photos. You can currently also respond to a photo with an emoji that is then placed on the message, but there is still room for improvement.

Emoji Reactions

How useful are those emoji reactions. Although there is not yet a very large choice (you have six at your disposal), it is nice to respond to a comment with a thumbs up instead of entering a thumbs separately, which then sends everyone a notification. By the way, the person who posted the message on which the emoji was placed will receive a notification, but this immediately states that someone put a certain emoji on your message, so you don’t necessarily have to open WhatsApp for it.

You can also put such reactions on a photo, but if someone immediately shares a lot of photos, it works slightly differently. In the beta test version of the app WABetaInfo already seen how the comments have changed in version 2.22.12.14 of android. WhatsApp is apparently in a hurry to introduce this. These are comments that you can see per person for any photo or video in a gallery without having to open the entire album. WhatsApp solves this by showing a thumbnail for every photo or video that has an emoji response.

When exactly it will come to the stable version of WhatsApp, that remains to be seen. It is not at all certain that it will come, as it is still in a test version. However, we can assume, certainly so soon after the introduction of the reaction function, that it will probably make its appearance in the ‘real’ version of the chat app.

Curious? You can sign up for the WhatsApp beta program via this link† However, that does not mean that you will see the new function anyway, because there are often still differences between the testers within the beta test.

What do you actually think of the emoji reactions? Are you happy with it, or do you see more opportunities for improvement? Leave your comment now!
