WhatsApp has a new app for Mac
For a long time we had to make do with a simplified version of WhatsApp for the Mac. Fortunately, that has now changed, because WhatsApp has released a completely new app for the Mac. The new app is much more extensive than before, so you can now also use the functions of your iPhone on the Mac. It is now finally possible to make video calls via WhatsApp on your Mac.

It was high time that WhatsApp received a major update on the Mac, because WhatsApp’s previous app was released in 2016. Since then, no major update has been released, which means that several WhatsApp functions were not yet available on the desktop version. Do you regularly use WhatsApp on your Mac(Book)? This is how you install WhatsApp on your Mac(Book)
The updated version of WhatsApp could already be installed via the web page of the chat service. Now the new WhatsApp app can finally also be installed in the App Store for the Mac. Searching for the app in the App Store is still difficult, but you can now find WhatsApp under ‘Discover > Top free apps’. Or you can install the app via the link below, it’s that easy.
To install WhatsApp’s all-new app, your Mac must be running macOS 11 or later. Does your Mac no longer support the latest macOS versions? Then you can still send messages on WhatsApp, but via WhatsApp Web. It is not possible to make video calls or audio calls via the WhatsApp website.
It is not yet clear whether these functions will eventually be added to the web version, but it does not seem that way for now. Video calling is therefore possible with the WhatsApp app. A maximum of eight people can then participate in the video call. Audio calls are also being added to the desktop version of WhatsApp, which can be done with up to 32 participants at the same time.
WhatsApp is also coming to the iPad
WhatsApp finally has a full-fledged app for the Mac, but is still not available on the iPad. Fortunately, this will soon change, because WhatsApp is finally being tested on the iPad. This is probably the same app as on the iPhone and Mac. This means that you will soon also be able to make video calls via WhatsApp on your iPad, without needing an iPhone.
