WhatsApp has a new function, but unfortunately it cannot be switched off. You should know this about Meta Ai in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has Meta Ai
Meta has added a new feature to WhatsApp! The messaging service has been expanded with Meta Ai, the new chatbot of the company. Meta AI is similar to chatgpt and is gradually being rolled out with users of WhatsApp around the world. Earlier the new chatbot was added to Facebook and Instagram, now Meta AI is also coming to WhatsApp. The chatbot answers almost all your questions or assignments.
You can find Meta AI in the form of a blue circle at the bottom right in your list of conversations in WhatsApp. Above ‘Settings’ this circle will appear automatically as soon as the chatbot is available on your iPhone. Do you want to start a conversation with Meta AI? To do that you tap the blue circle, then a new conversation starts and you can enter an assignment or question. Do you prefer to remove Meta AI from your list? Then we have bad news, because that is not possible.

Meta AI cannot be switched off
Meta AI is automatically added to WhatsApp, you don’t have to perform an update for that. Meta has already indicated that the chatbot cannot be removed from the messaging service. That means that the blue circle is always visible in WhatsApp, even if you do not use the new function at all. You can remove the conversation with Meta Ai from the list of all chats in WhatsApp.
That conversation is started automatically as soon as you enter a question or assignment at Meta AI in WhatsApp. Users of WhatsApp then get the option to archive or remove the chat from your list of conversations. In this way, the conversation with Meta AI is not between the chats with other contacts. The chatbot does not work optimally yet, because Meta AI is not (yet) available in Dutch.

Object to Meta Ai
The first users in the Netherlands can already get started with Meta Ai in WhatsApp. Rolling out new functions usually takes a few weeks, which means it can take a while before the chatbot appears on your iPhone. Be careful with the data you share with Meta AI, because all the data you send to the chatbot are visible to meta. They are also used for training Meta AI.
That does not apply to the messages you send and receive in other conversations, because they are encrypted. Meta cannot therefore view or use that data for training Meta AI. This is the case with the information you share on Facebook and Instagram, also Meta companies. There you have to object if you don’t want your data to be used for Meta AI. Curious how you do that? Then read here how to object on Facebook and Instagram!
