When does Apple announce the iPhone event?
We are still waiting for Apple’s announcement when the upcoming iPhone event takes place. According to the last rumors, that is on Tuesday 9 September. It is still not official.
Since 2020, Apple has been recording videos of iPhone events in advance. In recent years, the company invites selected reporters to the Steve Jobs Theater To view the video personally. Afterwards, those present then get the chance to try out the new devices themselves. The table below provides an overview of the dates of the last six iPhone events, with 2020 and 2021 exceptions due to the Coronapandemie.

If we start from this table, then the most likely date on which Apple announces the following iPhone event Tuesday 26 August.
You can expect this
Apple will probably present the iPhone 17 this year, the completely new iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are the most important rumors about these new devices:
- iPhone 17: The same design as the iPhone 16, but with an A19 chip, a larger 6.3-inch screen, an improved 24-megapixel camera on the front and possibly support for 120 Hz.
- iPhone 17 Air: completely new model with an ultra-run design, 6.6-inch screen, A19 chip, 12 GB of memory, a single 48-megapixel camera on the back, a 24-megapixel camera on the front, a single speaker and an optional battery cover.
- iPhone 17 Pro: A newly designed camera island on the back with three 48-megapixel cameras, an aluminum frame, an A19 Pro chip, 12 GB of memory, new orange or copper color and possibly a Vapor Chamber cooling system.
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: All the functions of the iPhone 17 Pro mentioned above, plus a slightly thicker design for a larger battery and therefore a longer battery life.
