When will Apple release iOS 18.3? This is the expected release

Apple has released iOS 18.2 and is working hard in the background on the next update. When will iOS 18.3 be released?

On Wednesday, December 11, Apple released iOS 18.2, which mainly brought minor improvements to your iPhone. The camera controller, Find My app and the Photos app, among others, have received a number of new features. The most important features are not available here, because Apple Intelligence will only come to the European Union later. Apple is now working hard on iOS 18.3, the next iPhone update.

Apple will probably use iOS 18.3 mainly to make improvements, just as was the case with iOS 18.2. This fixes issues with Genmoji and Writing Assistant, but these features are not yet available here. This will remain the case for the time being, it is not expected that Apple Intelligence will come to the Netherlands and Belgium with iOS 18.3. That won’t happen until April, with iOS 18.4.

Features in iOS 18.3

With iOS 18.3, Apple is bringing a number of new features to the Feedback Assistant and the Home app. The Feedback app makes it possible to log in with Face ID or Touch ID. This is not yet possible, so you have to use your iPhone’s password every time. The Feedback app is only available to users who have installed a test version of iOS on their iPhone. There is therefore a good chance that you do not have the application on your device.

Starting from iOS 18.3, it will be possible to add robot vacuum cleaners to the Home app. The Home app does not yet support robot vacuum cleaners, but that will soon change. The feature is not yet fully rolled out in the Netherlands and Belgium, but is only available in English. You can operate the robot vacuum cleaners via the Home app and Siri, provided you enter English commands.

Release of the update

Apple just released iOS 18.2, so the first test versions of iOS 18.3 are now rolling out. The final version is expected to be released in January. Typically, Apple follows the same timeline for releasing updates. In 2024, iOS 17.3 was released on January 22, iOS 16.3 was released on January 23, 2023, and iOS 15.3 was released on January 26, 2022.

There is therefore a good chance that iOS 18.3 will also be released on the fourth Monday of January. That means the update is on Monday January 27, 2025 appears.
