With shower water for heat in the city

Due to climate change, we experience more and more days in Germany with extreme heat. In the cities, the warmth of asphalt and concrete builds up the most. It therefore takes more green – and in the future this could be poured out of our showers and sinks with the only slightly dirty domestic water. A pilot project has already successfully tested the process in a Dortmund model quarters and also rely on artificial intelligence.

With increasing temperatures, climate change makes not only the environment, but also to our body. In the summer 2023 and 2024 there were around 3,000 heat -related deaths in Germany – in the future it could be even more. The situation is particularly critical in cities. Due to the many built -in concrete and asphalt, they heat up much more than the surrounding country and become real heat islands.
