In Europe, it is mainly German companies that rule the tuning country. Although we occasionally lift Japanese tuners on stage at AutoWeek.nl, the Indian DC2 provides a strong breath of fresh air. This is the DC2 Mahindra Thar Hulk.

The DC2 Mahindra Thar Hulk is, as its name gives away, a thoroughly renovated Mahindra Thar. Just like cars like the Troller, the Thar is an off-roader that is clearly inspired by the Wrangler and therefore Jeep CL models, which by nature is already quite expressive. The Thar was helped to a new generation last year and for whom that new version is not striking enough, the Hulk variant of DC2 offers a solution.

DC2, formerly DC Design, makes the Thar a remarkably wide model. The tuner gives the Mahindra significantly wider wheel arches, heavy bumper work and a light bar on the roof. Whether the somewhat sleepy-looking viewers of ‘the Hulk’ fit in with the design is debatable. In any case, it is ‘different’. Incidentally, the entire front is being overhauled. DC2’s Hulk has a different hood, complete with a new grille. A set of off-road tires can of course not be missed during the conversion.

Despite the thoroughly modified appearance, DC2 stays away from the Thar’s powertrains. That means you can get the Hulk with a 152 hp 2.0 petrol engine and with a 132 hp 2.2 diesel.
