The Hyundai i30 Fastback has been no longer available in the Netherlands for some time, and certainly not the powerful N version. Nevertheless, we present you this camouflaged i30 N Fastback, because it brings important news.

Last spring we could tell you that Hyundai has quietly removed the i30 Fastback from the Dutch range in 2022. This automatically ended the N version as well. In these new spy photos we see that car in a modified form and you may wonder why we are still examining that car if it is no longer sold here. Well, for the simple reason that it almost certainly indicates a second facelift for the Hyundai i30 as a whole.

In March, Hyundai Europe boss Michael Cole stated that a successor to the i30 is coming, but a completely new generation seems to be a while off. Instead, it looks like a second facelift should keep the i30 up to date. The previous one came at the beginning of 2020, so that could be quite right in terms of timing. However, we are now dealing with a seven-year-old model, so the i30, which has been facelifted for the second time, will soon be quite old.

The Hyundai i30 was already facelifted in 2020

The facelift seems to be of a subtle nature, possibly indicating that the i30 will not need it for a very long time. Based on these photos, we expect (at least for the N) a modified grille and slightly different bumpers at the front and rear. The lighting that was changed in the previous facelift seems to survive this facelift. You can also count on updated infotainment and new digital instruments. We will probably not see the facelifted Hyundai i30 until 2024.
