In a few weeks it will already be that time: WWDC 2022. On this Worldwide Developers Conference Apple is likely to announce all kinds of new software (and maybe hardware). Here are our expectations for WWDC 2022!
Certainty: Apple announces software at WWDC
Apple invited us to WWDC 2022 a while ago. All major announcements are expected to take place in the evening on the first day. From June 6 to June 10, 2022, Cupertino will be all about software. Unfortunately, we have to watch the announcements online instead of being physically present.
During the keynote at WWDC 2022, we will likely see iOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9, and iPadOS 16. But software (hopefully) isn’t the only thing. In this article you can read all expectations of the software and our hopes for new Apple products at WWDC 2022.
iOS 16: These are our expectations of WWDC 2022
In the new software for the iPhone, we will mainly see changes in the interface. The status bar in particular will be overhauled (especially since we expect an iPhone without a notch to appear at the end of this year). In addition, expect deeper shadows, larger fonts and a little more texture in the design. We will also see changes in the notifications.
We also heard stories that Apple is going to offer various devices in subscription form. Perhaps this will be announced later this year, but there is also a chance that we will already see this at this conference. In any case, it belongs in the list of expectations for WWDC 2022.
iOS 16 would also come with new features for Apple Pay. One buy-now-pay-laterfeature for Apple Pay also provides the option to pay in installments. We think that the big changes of iOS 16 for the iPhone will mainly be in the widgets. The interactive widgets should be smoother.
Apple is rumored to be using a different font on the Lock screen. This should make the date and time easier to read.

Expectations of iPadOS, watchOS and macOS
We can only say about the new design of the software of the iPad that it corresponds to our expectations for iOS 16. The operating system will also probably get a new multitasking interface. We are very excited about that. Not much is known about the new macOS 13. It might go mammoth but we don’t know more than that yet.
The software update to watchOS 9 is also still relatively unknown. Rumor has it that there will be an enhanced power saving mode for your Apple Watch. Hopefully the battery will last even longer. In addition, a number of draft versions of the new software version have also appeared.

Cautious Hardware Expectations at WWDC 2022
From here we enter uncharted territory. There are rumors that two new Macs may be announced at WWDC 2022 in June. In any case, we hope that Apple will show the MacBook Air 2022 during this event.
Other Macs that the usually reliable Gurman says will get an update in the near future include a new Mac mini, a new iMac and a relatively affordable 13-inch MacBook Pro. Are we going to see all these new devices at WWDC 2022? That would be nice!
If we can dream completely before June 6, we will arrive at the new VR/AR headset from Apple. Should this be announced at WWDC 2022, it will exceed all our expectations. If we are very realistic this is not going to happen. Although we do hear rumors that the product will come. When this will happen remains a question.
