Do you think you know the Apple Watch inside and out? There’s a good chance you’ve never seen this hidden code.
Your Apple Watch has a secret code: you can find it here
Your Apple Watch is full of smart gadgets, but there are also a few hidden things to be found. If you have ever looked at the back of the Apple Watch, you may know that there is some information about your Apple Watch there.
But the Apple Watch also contains a few secret codes. They are located in a place where you have probably never looked: under the connection of the strap.

Fortunately, it’s quite easy to remove the band from your Apple Watch. Turn your Apple Watch over, press and hold the oval button on the back and gently slide the strap to the side. Then look into the slot. In good light you can usually see a short code or combination of letters and numbers.
If you look very closely you can read the codes with the naked eye. But it is easier to use the iPhone’s camera. These little codes tell you something about your watch, and on some models even a little more.

But what good is it? Well, for example, you will find the serial number of your Apple Watch here. For the Apple Watch Ultra you will also find an extra code here. This code indicates that the Apple Watch meets safety requirements for diving accessories, especially depth gauges and devices that measure both depth and time.

Why are the hidden codes on the Apple Watch useful?
The secret code is useful, for example, if you have an Apple Watch with a broken screen. Together with the data on the back, you can then retrieve a lot of information from the Apple Watch. You can also use it as an extra check if you have bought a second-hand Apple Watch and are not completely confident with it.
