Photo library on the iPhone
Do you regularly use the photo library on your iPhone? Then we have good news, because the photos app gets a handy function. With iOS 26, many changes come to your iPhone, giving several Apple applications a new layout. One of these is the photos app, which is completely different from iOS 26. The renewed design with Liquid Glass also comes to the photo library.
The new design and the adjusted layout are the most important changes that come to the photos app on the iPhone with iOS 26. Yet that is not all, because the photo library on the iPhone also has a number of hidden functions. One of these is bundling photos and videos of a concert or other event. From iOS 26, the photos app automatically recognizes these events.
Events in photos app
Do you regularly go to large events, such as concerts or sports competitions? In that case you get a handy function from iOS 26. The photo library on the iPhone then automatically registers these events. You can see that in the photorol at the buttons under the image or video. Where all photos and videos have an information symbol (‘i’), this is an icon of a ticket for visual materials from iOS 26.
Do you tap this new symbol under the photo or video? Then the photo library on the iPhone provides more information about the event. This way you can see which artist performed at the concert and where exactly the performance took place. In addition, the page of the artist in Apple Music is linked to the photos app, so that you can go to the playlist with one tap with the set list of the concert. In this way the film roll is a handy link with Apple Music.
More about the photo library
The photo library on the iPhone has been placing photos and videos of certain events together in one collection for some time. From iOS 26, that function is much more advanced, because then information about the event will also be displayed. At concerts you also see the start and end time and the address of the concert hall. In addition, information about the camera of the iPhone is displayed under the photo or video, as happens in iOS 18.
