Spotify has announced a major update! Your Spotify account will soon be expanded with private messages. That’s how it works.
Spotify introduces private messages
There is a major update for Spotify! The messaging service has announced an important change, because Spotify is being expanded with private messages. It will soon be possible to send messages to other users. Spotify makes it easier to share your favorite music, podcasts and audio books with friends. This was already possible through other applications such as WhatsApp, but will soon also be able to use Spotify itself.
You can easily send private messages to other users of Spotify, with which you have previously shared content. These are users who are part of your subscription, who have previously shared a jam with you or who manage a playlist together with you. In addition, you can send an invitation for an interview by searching for specific user names. In these conversations you can share all Spotify content, then you can respond immediately with a text message or emoji.

This is how conversations work in Spotify
Do you want to start a private conversation in Spotify? You will do that soon by pressing the ‘parts’ button under songs, audio books and podcasts. The option of Spotify appears there the option to send private messages to other users. Spotify shows standard suggestions for other users, these are people with whom you have previously had a conversation, playlist or jam. Do you want to send a message to someone else? You can also search for usernames to start a conversation.
You can’t just send a private message to other users on Spotify. Users first receive a request that they should approve, only then will a conversation be started. This way Spotify prevents you from getting involved in unwanted conversations. The content of the conversations is end-to-end encrypted, so that nobody can read your messages. It is possible to report messages, these are then checked by Moderators from Spotify.

Major update will be published next week
The private reports will soon be available in Spotify, but are not available for all users. Only users who are sixteen years or older get access to the new function. It is an update for all subscriptions. Both the free and paid version of Spotify is expanded with private calls, so you do not need a Premium subscription for that.
We don’t have to wait long for the new function of Spotify, because the big update will come next week. Next week the music service will roll out a new software version, making it possible to send private messages in Spotify. In addition, users with a Premium subscription probably get access to the new Mix Tool in Spotify. Curious about that new position?
