Set Google as default search engine

Internet programs use search engines. Google is just not always the default search engine. For example, Edge uses the search engine Bing. Prefer to search with Google? Set that from now on this search engine will be searched by default. For example, if you type a search term in the address bar, you will automatically search with Google. Useful!

• Open the Firefox browser.
• Click on the icon of the three hyphens in the top right.
• click on Options.
• Click on the magnifying glass icon.
• Select under ‘Default search engine’ google.

• Open the browser Edge.
• Click on the three dots at the top right.
• click on Institutions.
• At the bottom, click on ‘Open Microsoft Edge with’ on the selection menu.
  
• Select Specific page or pages.
• Type Google’s URL (the link) in the box that says “Enter a URL.”
• Click on a diskette icon next to the text box to save the change.

• Launch Internet Explorer.
• Click on the gear at the top right.
• click on Manage add-ons.
• Click on the left Search engines.
• Select google. Don’t see this option? First click on the blue link Find more search engines, click under ‘Google’ on Add to Internet Explorer > Add.
• Put a check in front of it Search in the address bar and in the search box in the new tab.
• Click on the bottom right Use as default plug-in.
• click on Close.

Google is already the default search engine in Chrome. Isn’t this the case with you? Then change it like this:

• Open the Google Chrome browser.
• Click on the three dots at the top right.
• click on Institutions.
• Click on the left Search engine.
• After ‘The search engine used in the address bar’, select the drop-down menu.
• click on google.
• Close the ‘Settings’ tab at the top by clicking the cross.

• Open the Safari browser.
• Click in the search bar.
• Click on the magnifying glass icon.
• click on google.
