About four years after the introduction of the Karoq, Skoda gives its crossover a facelift. The renewed Skoda Karoq clambers with a modernized exterior and a detailed cutting table interior.
The Karoq, presented in 2017, was Skoda’s second SUV after the Kodiaq. The Kodiaq presented a year earlier was facelifted earlier this year and now the Karoq is also entering its second phase of life. As with the updated Kodiaq, the facelift of the Karoq seems brief, but more has changed than you might think at first glance.
The renewed Karoq is immediately recognizable as Karoq, although that does not mean that nothing has changed on the outside. Skoda’s competitor to cars such as the Nissan Qashqai, Seat Ateca and Hyundai Tucson will have a renewed front with a new, larger grille. The grid is not only larger, Skoda gives the whole thing a more hexagonal shape and puts it more upright than the copy that you still find on the Karoq. Skoda screws new headlights on either side of the grille. The viewers have a new shape. The almost rectangular copies of the original have been replaced by headlights from which a bite has been taken towards the grille. Its interpretation is also new, the LED daytime running lights no longer consist of a purely horizontal stripe at the bottom of the unit, but is now made up of two unequal parts.
Just like at the front, Skoda also adjusts the lighting at the rear of the Karoq. The taillights are wider and a lot flatter than before, which means that Skoda has had to adjust more than just the shape of the tailgate. The layout of the rear lights is new and like the rear lights of the new Kodiaq, it looks more depth than in the previous copies.
The adjustments in the interior of the Karoq are less pronounced.
