Rumors about the new iPhone are flying around us. Photos from a screen protector seem to confirm that the iPhone 13 gets a smaller notch than its predecessor.
‘iPhone 13 gets smaller notch’
The iPhone 13 will probably have a smaller notch than the iPhone 12. This is evident from photos of Twitter user DuanRui, which is increasingly leaking accurate information about unannounced Apple products. The images show a screen protector that would be intended for the new iPhone. The notch appears to be about 30 percent smaller than that of its predecessor.
The photos also clearly show how Apple manages that. The speaker is no longer in the notch, but moves to the bezel at the top of the device. This allows the selfie camera, Face ID sensor and other components to be placed closer together. These parts therefore remain the same size. It is unclear why Apple has not moved the speaker before, because that seems a relatively simple adjustment.
Rumors of a smaller screen notch have been going on for years, but this time it seems serious. The design of the notch on the iPhone 13 has already been leaked. A dummy of the device also shows that Apple is working on a new design. According to rumors, the iPhone will no longer have a notch at all from 2023.
More rumors about the iPhone 13
In addition to a smaller notch, the iPhone 13 probably contains many more innovations. Although the release will take another five months or so, we think we already know quite a lot about the device. We expect the smartphone to run on a faster A15 chip and a slightly larger battery. Furthermore, Apple probably provides the iPhone 13 Pro models with a 120Hz screen. This makes the display look much smoother.
