The fourth model
Even Lamborghini will switch to the fully electric powertrain in the future and will soon reflect extensively on that special moment. Somewhere in the coming weeks, the curtain will be lifted from an electric study model.
Cars like the Rimac Nevera and Lotus Evija prove that electric drive can go hand in hand with a hypercar, only a Lamborghini with its ‘screamy’ appearance should actually have a howling V10 or V12. Yet Lamborghini will sooner or later go electric. To be precise, we can expect Lamborghini’s first pure electric tear monster in 2028. A car that is now simply referred to as ‘the fourth model’.
Why the fourth model? Well, recently there is of course the Lamborghini Revuelto as the successor to the Aventador, in the long term the Huracán will also be replaced by a hybrid and the Urus will also switch to the partly electric drive. In addition to those three, there is this new fourth, which is the first Lamborghini ever to go through life without a combustion engine. As said, it will take another five years before that happens and Lamborghini still wants to prepare the world for it. That is why the brand is pulling the curtain off a study model this month that looks ahead. That will almost certainly happen during Monterey Car Week, which starts next Friday.
Based on the teaser photo above, which was shared more than three years ago, we can count on a car with classic Lamborghini lines. It will be one with a somewhat less usual layout in the interior: it is a 2 + 2, so in addition to room for the driver and a passenger, it also has two seats in the back. Don’t be surprised if the car is a bit higher on its feet than the Revuelto and Huracán.
