You should actually turn off this function on the Apple Watch immediately
Maybe you’ve had it happen before: you check your Apple Watch to know what time it is. Or you want to skip to the next song on Spotify and suddenly one of the live activities blocks half of the screen.
Admittedly, the live activities can be quite useful. You often find them in the smart stack and it adjusts automatically. For example, you will see the weather forecast when you want to leave home, or Shazam when music is playing somewhere in the background.
Would you rather not? Then you can disable the automatic activation of live activities on your Apple Watch. You do this in the following way.
Turn off automatic activation of live activities
- In the ‘Settings’ on your Apple Watch;
- Scroll down and click on ‘Smart Stack’;
- Tap ‘Live Activities’;
- Set the slider next to ‘Start Live activities automatically’ to off.
You can still view the live activities in the smart stack. But your Apple Watch will no longer automatically show the smart stack of activities.
The function is on every Apple Watch that runs watchOS 11. Those are the next Apple Watches.
