Opel Vivaro also available as 4X4

Opel’s acquisition by PSA has, among other things, ensured that Opel’s commercial vehicle range has been overhauled in a very short period of time. Thanks to the new French parent brand, the Opel Vivaro meets 4X4 expert Dangel for the first time in his life.

Opel presents the Vivaro 4X4. That is not a big surprise, because the French pick-up expert previously worked with the twin brothers of the Vivaro. For example, a Citroën Jumpy 4X4 has been driving around for several years and a 4X4 version of the similar Toyota Proace has also been available since 2018. The same adaptation party is waiting for the Opel.

To make a regular executioner of the regular bus, a lot of adjustments are needed. For example, the original front-wheel drive bus must be converted into a 4WD. In addition, there is a lot of tinkering with the suspension so that there is more ground clearance. Especially at the rear, the Vivaro 4X4 is higher on the legs: the ground clearance there is 220 mm. At the nose it is 180 mm. Most height gain is achieved in the middle of the bus, because there the ground clearance after all adjustments is 245 mm (+ 60 mm). The Vivaro 4X4 should be able to climb a hill of up to 23.7 degrees.

No further adjustments are made to the 2.0-liter diesel. Like the regular Vivaro, the 4X4 version is available in three spring sizes. The loading space increases to a maximum of 6.6 cubic meters. It is not yet certain whether the rigged Vivaro 4X4 will also come to the Netherlands. In Germany it costs an additional € 6,665 to turn an Vivaro into an all-terrain executioner.

The French Dangel started raising Peugeots and Citroëns in the mid-1980s. Nowadays it only ventures from PSA vans. The Vivaro is not the first Opel to meet the French company: the Combo previously fell into the hands of Dangel.
