How do corona rapid tests work? The Augsburger Puppenkiste has published a video that contains child-friendly instructions for schoolchildren. However, the video caused a shit storm on YouTube.
Since Monday there has been a compulsory test for students in Bavaria: If you take part in lessons in the classrooms, you have to do a Corona self-test twice a week. In line with the new regulation, the Augsburger Puppenkiste has published an explanatory video together with the Bavarian Ministry of Culture.
In the clip, Dr. Kasparl can be seen in his corona laboratory. “Today I don’t make a joke, but show you how a self-tescht really works,” he says in his Augsburg dialect. Erwin the meerkat is also there – it can be seen via video call on a laptop.
Here the video Youtube:
Precise explanations combined with the typical humor of the Augsburger Puppenkiste
A test set is already on the table in front of Erwin. Dr. Kasparl explains the different components and what to look out for in the individual steps. He always shows the humor typical of the Augsburger Puppenkiste: “And now it’s coming: Now you can dig your nose,” he says, for example. “But don’t use your finger, just use the swab, ge.” Kasparl explains, you can watch Erwin doing the test.
The video is lovingly designed – and makes the procedure of the test easier to understand, even for adults. On YouTube, however, the clip was initially not very well received by many users. Shortly after publication, numerous malicious comments accumulated in the comment column.
“This is disgusting and sick madness. Simply disgusting “, is it[called there for example. “The doll box died for me. Every visit on my part canceled for the next 100 years, ”says another comment.
After the “Hatestorm” followed the “Lovestorm”
However, the majority of the comments are now positive. To find the negative feedback, you have to scroll down quite a bit.
Many commentators praise the video and the initiative of the Augsburger Puppenkiste. A comment with a particularly large number of likes: “This is probably the most charming quick test guide there is on the Internet.” Previously, Twitter users had drawn attention to the “Hatestorm” and asked for likes and positive comments for the video.
Utopia means: What mistakes can you make in a corona test? Why does it make sense for students to do it regularly? And what else helps against infection with the virus? The video of the Augsburger Puppenkiste deals with complex topics – but in a humorous and child-friendly way. It can therefore be a useful helper to relieve the fear of tests, especially younger children.
