The iPhone 15 has only been in stores for a few weeks, but there are already rumors about the iPhone of 2024. An Apple analyst has revealed details of what you can expect from the iPhone 16 Pro.
iPhone 16 Pro: innovations
Website 9to5Mac has a report from analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities in which he shares his expectations for next year’s new iPhones. He reveals a lot of details, so sit tight.
First of all, the screen: all iPhones would be 0.2 inches larger. This means that the smaller iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display. The larger iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the largest iPhones ever, with a screen diagonal of 6.9 inches.
The rumor is not surprising, because the reliable Ming-Chi Kuo and Ross Young previously predicted that the iPhone 16 series will come in larger sizes. Young spoke of a 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch display.
Camera system
Because the iPhone 16 Pro is larger than its predecessor, Apple will be able to equip the device with the same tetraprism lens as the iPhone 15 Pro Max now has. The 5x optical zoom lens is currently exclusive to the Pro Max, but soon both the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have it. Once again the lens has a 12-megapixel sensor. This is in line with Kuo’s previous statements.
What Apple also improves on the Pro’s camera system is the ultra-wide-angle lens. This has remained the same since the iPhone 13 Pro and takes photos with 12 megapixels. This will be much better, because according to Jeff Pu, Apple equips the ultra-wide angle with a 48-megapixel sensor – just like with the main camera.
5G and WiFi
The iPhone 15 Pro is the first with WiFi 6e support, but its successor may have WiFi 7. This is the new WiFi standard and it reaches speeds of up to 46 Gbps, four times more than WiFi 6.
5G speeds may also improve. Pu speculates that the iPhones come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem, which achieves download speeds of up to 7.5 Gbps.
Of course, there will also be a new A18 Pro chip. The processor is built with the 3-nanometer process, the same as the A17 Pro. The working memory remains the same as the iPhone 15 Pro with 8 GB of RAM.
