Second record year in a row
For the second row of the year, Lamborghini has a sales record to celebrate. In 2022, the number of cars sold will increase by no less than 10 percent compared to 2021.
This afternoon several gentlemen and ladies in Sant’Agata Bolognese will probably have had an extra large scoop of spaghetti at lunch, because Lamborghini is recording another record year. 2022 was good for the sale of 9,233 Lamborghinis, which is about 10 percent more than last year. Then the Italians sold 8,405 cars. It will no longer surprise you, but in 2022 the Urus was again the best-selling Lamborghini. No less than 5,367 of these went over the proverbial counter, about 58 percent of the total sale. Yet it was the Huracán that stood out in particular; 3,113 of these were sold, which is 20 percent more than a year earlier. Sales growth for the Urus was 7 percent. The Aventador, which is now really waving off, was still good for 753 copies.
Lamborghini mainly sold more cars in Asia. There, sales increased by 14 percent. In North, Central and South America there was a growth of 10 percent, in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) there was a growth of 7 percent. Incidentally, zoomed in on the individual countries, the United States is the most important sales area. 2,721 new Lamborghinis went there. China follows in second place with 1,018 units and Germany is in third place with 808 units. In the Netherlands, 43 Lamborghinis were sold last year.
To give an idea of the strong growth in recent years: Lamborghini celebrated a sales record five years ago when 3,457 cars were sold. If it continues at this rate, Lamborghini may sell more than 10,000 cars in 2023 for the first time.
