Apple is hard at work behind the scenes with the development of AR glasses. The release of the Apple AR glasses is rumored to be at the end of 2022, but you probably have to wait a little longer to really buy one.
Apple AR glasses release
According to the latest rumors, the Apple AR glasses will arrive in 2022. But Mark Gurman by Bloomberg says in its most recent newsletter that you’ll probably have to wait a little longer to actually buy one.
This also happened with the first iPad, iPhone and the Apple Watch, says Gurman. Apple’s first AR glasses will have a complex design with interchangeable lenses. However, its development takes quite some time.
Gurman goes on to say that the Apple Watch also took 227 days to actually appear on the market at the time. At the time, Cook was under considerable pressure from investors and prospective customers to launch this new product line.
Apple AR glasses headset
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the headset looks like a kind of glasses and only has Augmented Reality. With AR you see a virtual layer over reality. This is useful, for example, when you are navigating and ‘projected’ arrows show you which way to go.
Furthermore, Kuo says that the glasses have about the same processing power as a Mac. But he does think the headset will get two processors, a high-end and a slower one. The fast processor has a performance comparable to the M1 for the Mac. The other processor will mainly be used for things that have to do with the different sensors on the glasses.
The rumors also indicate that Apple is developing two different glasses. The augmented reality glasses and a mixed reality headset. This headset uses a combination of virtual reality and augmented reality.
